BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE

AHHHHHH LOVE THIS PALETTE!

For many many reasons!

The colors! Oh my so beautiful! I played around with a few looks natural looks and night looks.

They go on so smoothly and are perfectly pigmented.

The SMELL OMG are you kidding me! They are made with 100% Cocoa powder. They smell amazing just like... well cocoa! Hence the name Chocolate Bar! hahaha

Lets talk Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.... again OMG!
LOVE this mascara... I do not have any complaints about it. I have extremely short lashes and this mascara really adds length and volume to them!

Next we have the Too Faced Eye Anti-Crease Eye Primer. Great product! You only need a tiny bit of product to apply on your eyes...

AHHHHHH!!!! Another amazing product from Too Faced!!!! This lipstick..smells amazing of course! And goes on so smoothly/creamy and lets not forget the color is gorgeous! Love applying this to my lips! ;)

I cannot decide if I want to purchase the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar...if you have it let me know your thoughts!? Is it worth it, if you already have the original Chocolate Bar?

Makeup Mistakes

Makeup mistakes--- are you making them? Of course at one time or another we have made mistakes with our makeup. I have for sure!
There are many makeup mistakes that woman make here are my top 5.

Makeup mistake No. 1:
Wearing the wrong shade of foundation.

You should always use a shade that matches your skin tone. You do not want your foundation to give your skin a tan, that is what bronzer is for. To find your perfect shade, swatch a few sample shades on your jawline (not your hand) and check in natural light for the most natural look. Foundation can be applied with your fingertips (they are your best tool), makeup sponge or foundation brush.

Makeup mistake No. 2
 Blue eyeshadow

I have a love hate relationship with blue eyeshadow...The most common mistake is the 1980's blue YUK! Blue eyeshadow that is smothered all over the lid, up to the eyebrow bone, big no no.. Blue eyeshadow can look great if done right, so ladies lets not make 80's mistake!

Makeup mistake No. 3
 Eyebrows

I always liked this image...I will admit I have been guilty of at least one of these!

Eyebrows are the most distinguished features on your face. They can really make or break your entire look, if they are not groomed correctly. Most common mistakes are: misplacing the arch of your eyebrows, over-tweezing, not knowing where the beginning or the end of your eyebrows are and not grooming at all. Find out how to shape your eyebrows here. This link has a great tutorial to show you how to properly groom your brows.

Makeup Mistake No. 4.
 Eyeliner

Who doesn't love a great winged eyeliner look?! Me too! The picture above says it all. Many times woman will line there entire eyes with thick liner, this will make your eyes look smaller then they actually are. For the winged eyeliner look, only apply liner to the upper eyelash line or a light color liner on the bottom if you must have liner on your lower lash line. Click here for more information on how to apply liner according to the shape and size of your eyes. You can also check out my post on eye shapes and makeup techniques.

Makeup Mistake No. 5
 Lip liner

Pam Anderson cracks me up with her brown liner and nude lips...but hey guess who is also guilty of this makeup mistake?! Yup, you guessed it..me! Back about 14 years ago, I wore the brown lip liner and nude lipstick! Yuk!

Lip liner mistakes you should avoid: Going to dark- Never apply a darker lip liner around your lips, use a liner that is a shade lighter or a clear lip liner. No smudges or harsh lines- smudges make your lips look sloppy, your liner should blend in with your lipstick, if you have any smudges or harsh line use a q-tip to fix any imperfections, Lining your lips outside of your natural lip line- stay on your natural line, going outside of the natural lip line will only make your lip liner more noticeable.

Which mistakes have you made?

Eye Shapes and Techniques

Eye Shapes and eye makeup techniques

Below are 6 different eye shapes. Knowing what eye shape you have is beneficial to your makeup application. Which eye shape are you?

1. Almond Eyes
Almond eyes are narrow and oval with pointed ends. Often you will find that almond eyes have little or no crease in the eye lid.

    Makeup Tips
The almond eye can pull off almost any eyeliner look! When applying your eyeliner, outline your outer half of your upper lash line with a thin line and your outer lower lash line, to make your eyes appear larger. You can also apply eyeliner in your upper waterline too. Make sure to use light strokes and apply lightly to the inner corner of your lash line and darker towards the outer corner. Another trick to make your eyes appear bigger is to apply a white or beige liner to the lower waterline. Then apply a couple thick coats of mascara. Never outline your eyes with dark thick eyeliner around the top and bottom lash lines, this will make your eyes appear smaller. If you like a thicker eyeliner of the top lash line do not apply liner to the bottom lash line.

2. Close Set Eyes

Close set eyes are less than one eye width apart.

   Makeup Tips
To make your eyes appear further apart, apply a light color on the inner corner and extend darker colors starting from the center of your lid, working your way out to the ends of your eyebrows.
Check out this webpage The Beauty Department. She has great tips on how to apply makeup to close set eyes.

3. Down Turned Eyes
If the outer corners of your eyes appear to droop down, you have down turned eyes.

    Makeup Tips
For the smoky eye look...drag your shadow up and out. Bring your shadow up around the corners of your eyes, then take liquid liner and flick up and out as well.

4. Deep Set Eyes

Deep set eyes have a prominent brow bone and distinctive crease.

    Makeup Tips
Cover the brow bone with a lighter shade as your base. Line your entire eye with a black eyeliner pencil and go light on your eye shadow making sure you do not bring it up to the brow bone or crease. Keep most of your eyeshadow at your lash line.

5. Protruding Eyes

Protruding eyes tend to look large and bulging outwards.

   Makeup Tips
You will want to make your eyes appear smaller then they actually are. Line your eyes on the upper lash line, use eyeliner of the same color as eyeshadow you have used and  smudge it into you eyeshadow.

6. Hooded Eyes

Hooded eyes are sometimes called "bedroom eyes", because the lids tend to look heavy and partly closed

    Makeup Tips
Eye color can help hooded eyes appear more open by minimizing the eyelid. Apply a shading color to create a crease, apply a highlight color to the center of the lid and above your lash line to create the illusion that there is space between the lashes and the crease.

What I got for Christmas!!!

You may have seen this earlier, but some how my post was deleted and I had to start over :(

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did! Spoiled my girls of course and my hubby spoiled me as well! He did very well, I gave him some ideas but he pretty much did everything on his own!

First we have my two Michael Kors purses...Large Studded Saffiano Tote and Cynthia Saffiano Satchel. Loove these two purses! Right now I am carrying Cynthia..lots of room and easy to carry. The studded Saffiano is a little bigger and I feel like I am carrying a small suit case around lol! It is big but I love it! Did I mention that I LOVE THEM! hahaha :)

Coach Wallet....I really like the color of this wallet it is black and maroon and the Coach emblem is brown. I have another Coach wallet that is similar but I don't use it because it does not have a change pocket and this one does!

CrockPot recipe book... I love my crockpot! I actually have four of them: two small ones, a medium and a large CrockPot. I have made two recipes so far from the book and loved them. The Keep Calm and Carry on book.. is my husband trying to tell me something?? HAHA...This book is to help with managing worry, anxiety and fear...I admit I do suffer from some anxiety but who doesn't from time to time. I did start reading it and there are definitely some helpful suggestions in there.

ShopVac...yup a shop vac! Over the summer I was complaining to my husband about how we do not have a shop vac! Well now we do.. great for cleaning out your car!

My hubby also gave me perfume, sewing patterns (I love to sew) and a new outfit, which I will show in my upcoming clothing post. I may be missing something...

Drugstore mini Haul

I tried to take a break from buying makeup but you know..that never happens!

I wanted to try the NYC liquid eyeliner (with the brush applicator) that I have heard a lot of YouTubers and Bloggers rave about. I picked up the NYC liquid liner with the brush applicator and the felt tip applicator. Loving the liner with the brush, it goes on smoothly and has a nice rich black color. This eyeliner is great if you make a mistake it is easy to correct. The NYC liner with the felt tip I am not impressed with, it looks almost grey when you apply it. The picture below is not great but the felt tip liner is on the left and the brush tip liner is on the right. See the difference? Has anyone tried these liners and have you experienced this with the felt tip liner?

I have been wanting to try the new Revlon Matte Balms, when I went to Walgreens I ended up buying the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balms. The orange color is called Rendevous and the pink color is Sweetheart. These chubby crayon lip balms are great, they last hours and leave a light stain on your lip after the glossyness leaves... (Glossyness? is that a word..I make things up as I go! ) I will be going back for the Matte Balms, have you tried them?? or the Just Bitten Balms?

I also picked up some nail polish Charmed, I'm sure from Loreal and a sparkly mauve from Julie.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year!!! See you in 2014

Urban Decay Naked Palette 3....TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!

NAKED PALETTE 3 Coming soon......

Will you be getting Naked with 3???!!

Urban Decay Naked 3

Yes... I said it, it looks awesome!!! I am probably one of the few that do not own Naked or Naked 2.. CRAAAZY I know, right??? Out of the two I would most likely purchase the 1st one over the 2nd, the two are a lot alike, who knows maybe I will go for all of them. :) BUT 3 has some beautiful rose/pink/peachy colors that are just beautiful! The palette has 12 new shades with a finish of matte, pearl or a shimmery metallic.

Urban Decays Naked Palettes are one of the best selling palettes..and again, I have no idea why I do not own a single one of these....stupid! LOL  I will definitely be purchasing Naked 3 when it comes out. Now, I have not heard when it will be arriving but on the Urban Decay website you can sign up for alerts which I have linked bellow! Will you will be waiting in line on the launch date?? ;)

BH Cosmetics

BH Cosmetics Mini Haul

I am currently loving BH Cosmetics, their eye shadows are gorgeous! They are super pigmented and last all day. I would highly recommend putting a base on underneath as well. So far I have only purchased eye shadows, blushes, brushes and eye primer from this company.

My first purchase from BH Cosmetics was a little over a month ago.  I purchased the 60's palette, AMAZZZZING colors, beautiful and vibrant and mixed with shimmer and matte colors. I also purchased the 7 piece brush set (travel size)..  these brushes are pretty good but are definitely travel size..I believe I got a deal on these and thats why I purchased them. (I will post a pic of this palette soon).

Recent purchase last week.. was the 88 Color Palette in Tropical Matte..Great colors..NOTE: they are not all MATTE colors.. :( which I guess is okay I would have liked to see more matte colors but loving the palette anyway....
Here is a picture of the 88 Color Tropical Palette

Photo: Holy eyeshadows! BH Cosmetics 88 COLOR PALETTE Tropical Matte Eyeshadow... note: not all shapes are matte but they are super pigmented.

and I did just a few swatches to show the pigment of the shadows and how pretty they are! I may do a few more...

Photo: A few shadows from the 88 Palette.

BH San Francisco eye shadow and blush palette.. again another great palette, colors are beautiful and have great pigmentation!
16 eyeshadows matte and shimmer, and 4 blushes.. (these are not great pictures.. I took them with my phone)

Lastly, I purchased their eye & lip primer

I have used it a few times so far I like it and you do not need to much. A lot of the reviews on the website said "difficult removal" but I did not experience that. I works pretty good so far. I did not take a picture of the primer by itself but here is everything in their packaging! love the San Francisco packaging!

Photo: My new BH Cosmetics came today! So excited to try them out! #bhcosmetics
